Controlling phone use without sacrificing children's safety
How the app works
Our School & Family app is a patented, geofence-based solution that gives parents a more efficient way to manage their child's screen time at home or on the go. A geofence is easily set up within 1-2 minutes, with unique controls for each location.
When your child is inside any of the geofences, non-beneficial apps that you select are disabled while critical features like 911, medical monitoring, and language/translation remain active at all times. Other apps used for schoolwork or anything else you designate may be programmed to activate at specific times or may remain active throughout the day.
Safe Zones also helps provide a distraction-free environment for your child's sleep schedule, enabling them to be well-rested for their school, sports, or other activites.
In Cases of Emergency
Safety first - The biggest concern for all parents is the safety of their children. One of the benefits that cellphones provide is the ability to communicate with our children both routinely, and more importantly, in an emergency. The Safe Zones app keeps emergency communications such as 911, weather/fire alerts, etc. functional for your child at all times. Parents can also ‘white list’ phone numbers to remain active that their child can call at any time, such as Mom and Dad, as described below.

To ensure safe communications at all times, the ‘basic communications’ on your child’s phone are strictly controlled by Apple without connection to geofences.
To establish a ‘white list’ of contacts who can call or text your child at certain times of day, use Apple Communication Limits and Downtime in the Apple Family settings on your phone (parents). As an example, you can limit contacts to ‘parents/key contacts only' from 9 PM through 3PM the next day, to prevent outside texting or calls during sleep time and school time.
Arrival/Departure Confirmations
Parents can choose to be notified when their child enters or leaves a geofenced area, so there's no wondering if they've arrived at or left school, a friend's house, or other locations that are geofenced.
